Opera is a new buzz-word in Oslo. Since the new Opera House was inaugurated last April, "everyone" wants to go to the opera. Last night, The Norwegian National Opera premiered Carmen to a sold out hall and a crowd numbering 5-6000 on the roof, who were watching the free simulcast on a big screen.

Ålesund Symphony Orchestra premiered my first piece for a full symphony orchestra March 22nd. Their artistic director, Rune Bergmann, commissioned me to write an overture for them in 2007 and the piece was completed about a year ago. The piece is a klatronic overture for symphony orchestra and drum kit.
